The GTS Difference

VW / Audi Performance, Since 2010

The tuning scene got soft.
We didn't.

Somewhere along the way, a loud exhaust and a crackle map started passing for performance. A whole generation of tuners popped up selling files they didn't write, for cars they've never driven, with a dyno sheet nobody can verify and support that ends the second your card clears.

We have been doing this since 2010. GTS was born in 2013. We were here before the trend, and we will be here after it. Here is how to make sure you do not get burned, whether you buy from us or not.

Rule #1

If the price is flat, it is one file.

Here is the tell that will save you hundreds of dollars. Look at how a shop prices its stages.

A real Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 are three different calibrations. They have different boost targets, different fueling, and different timing parameters, all validated against specific hardware. That is three separate pieces of work. They cannot cost the same.

When you see a shop charging one flat price for Stage 1, 2, or 3, ask yourself how that is possible. It is not. You are buying one file with three names on a dropdown. We have seen entry-level tunes sold as Stage 3. We have cleaned up the aftermath on more than a few cars.

Our stages cost more as they climb because they require more work. That is not a markup. That is the reality of proper calibration.

What a real stage ladder looks like

StageWhat changesWho it's for
Stage 1Bolt-on safe, refined daily powerStock or lightly modded
Stage 2Exhaust/intake calibration, more boostBolt-on builds
Stage 3Big-turbo, fueling and hardware matchedSerious builds
Stage 4Built to your setup, file written for your hardwareNo-compromise power

Every step is a different file because every step is a different car. That is tuning. The rest is a copy-paste.

One shop. The tune and the hardware to back it.

A file by itself is half a job. If you push more boost, you need the fueling to feed it. Injectors, the right turbo, the supporting hardware, and a tune that actually knows those parts are there.

File-flippers cannot help you there. They will sell you a download and wish you luck. We sell the injectors, the turbo kits, and the calibration that runs them. It is all under one roof, handled by people who actually pick up the phone. If a calibration needs dialing in, you are talking to the shop that built it, not a generic contact form.

We write the software. That is the whole reason any of this works.

Most shops that sell you a tune did not build the tool that puts it in your car. They licence someone else's flashing package, put their logo on it, and are stuck with whatever it supports. We wrote ours. The client on your laptop, the protocols it speaks to the ECU, the read and write routines: all of it is ours, and it has been since 2010.

That is not a boast, it is the reason we can say yes to cars other people turn away. When an ECU variant is unsupported, or a checksum has never been published, we go and solve it rather than wait for a vendor to get round to it. We did exactly that for the Aisin automatic transmission controller, including its checksum, because somebody needed it and nobody else had bothered.

It is also why the big names walked away from ground we did not. APR, Unitronic and the rest moved their attention to the newest platforms, which is a reasonable business decision and leaves a lot of very good cars behind. A twenty-year-old 1.8T, a VR6, a 2.0 8v: those are not legacy platforms to us, and we are not giving them up because they stopped being fashionable.

But depth on ME7 is where the skill was earned, not where it stops. Owning the tooling is exactly what stops the platform being the limit. Newer ECUs, newer protocols, cars we have not touched yet: the work is the same work, and we would rather go and do it than wait for somebody to tell us what we are allowed to support. If you are on something modern and you want it done properly rather than quickly, that conversation is open.

The tune is not finished when you download it.

A calibration written blind is a guess. However good the starting point, it does not know your fuel, your weather, your hardware or how tired any of it is. So we ask for logs, we read them, and we revise. That is included, not sold back to you afterwards. Revisions usually come back the same day, and within 72 hours at the outside.

This is the difference that shows up in your car rather than on a spec sheet. A shop that does not want your logs cannot tell a tune that is wrong from a car that is worn out, so when something feels off it will blame the car. We would rather read the data and fix it.

$40 to flash it yourself. The cable is yours to keep.

$40
Flat remote flash, cable included and yours forever. No hidden delivery fees. No runaround sending us your ECU.

That is not just convenient, it is how you climb. Start at Stage 1 today. When you are ready for more power, you already have the hardware. Grab the next file and go. You build with us, not from scratch every time.

All bark. All bite.

We are not here to lecture you about exhaust notes. You want pops, bangs, and a launch that turns heads? So do we. The difference is ours are backed up.

Adjustable launch control. No-lift shifting. The motorsport features that make real noise because they make real power, not a crackle map bolted onto a stock car for clout. You get the sound and the speed, because here one comes with the other.

Noise is not the problem. Noise with nothing behind it is. That is the line between motorsport and make-believe.

That is the GTS difference. It has been that way since 2010.
