The bite behind the bark.
Launch control, no-lift shift, map switching. These are the motorsport features that make a tuned car actually feel tuned, and they are the line between a car that is loud and a car that is fast.
We build them into our calibrations, most of them free. Here is exactly what each one does, how you use it, and where it is available.
What it does: Holds your engine RPM at a set point so you can plant the throttle and launch off a known, repeatable RPM every time, instead of bogging down or spinning the tires guessing at it.
Soft vs hard: Soft launch control comes free with every tune. It holds your launch RPM for a clean, consistent street launch, but it does not build much boost, so it stays easy on your drivetrain. Hard launch (2-step) is the add-on that actually builds boost against the line: anti-lag spools the turbo while you are held at the limit, so you leave already on boost. That is the violent, track-style launch, and it asks more of your clutch and axles.
How to use it: Clutch in, floor it, the revs hold at the launch limit, then dump the clutch and go.
What it does: Lets you keep your foot flat through a manual upshift. Normally, lifting off to shift drops boost and your turbo spools back down, so you bleed power on every gear change. No-lift shift holds the fueling and ignition so the turbo stays lit, and you grab the next gear with boost already there. Faster shifts, no spool-down, more power under the curve.
How to use it: Clutch in, shift, clutch out. Your throttle stays pinned to the floor the whole time.
What it does: Runs more than one tune on a single flash and lets you switch between them on the fly, no laptop required. Typical maps: Stock for valet or the dealer, 93 octane for daily pump gas, 100 octane or race gas when you want everything, and E85 if you are set up for it. One car, the right map for the fuel in your tank.
How to use it: Switched through a simple in-car sequence (often the cruise control stalk). We walk you through it for your exact car.
What it does: We delete the factory top-speed governor and raise the rev limiter, so the engine pulls to where the tune actually makes power instead of where the factory decided to cap it. (Closed-course use only.)
Included, Not Upsold
Most shops gate these behind a premium tier or charge extra for each one. We build the core features (soft launch control, no-lift shift, speed limiter removal) into every tune at no extra cost, and keep the hard stuff (2-step) cheap. You should not have to pay a tax to use what your engine can already do.
That is the bite behind the bark, and it is the whole point of a real tune. Tell us your platform and we will tell you exactly which of these your car supports.
