The BDF is the 2.8 liter 24-valve VR6 in the MK4 Golf, Jetta and New Beetle. Variable valve timing and a stronger top end than the 12v. Stock 200 hp and 195 lb-ft. Naturally aspirated and responsive to a tune, with a strong supercharger and turbo aftermarket.
