Fits
| Code | Years | Cars |
| BPY | 2006-2008 | MK5 GTI, Jetta GLI, Passat B6, EOS, pre-facelift Audi A3 8P, some 2008 TT 8J 2.0T: North America |
| BWA | 2004-2010 | MK5 GTI, Audi A3 8P, Passat, TT 8J 2.0T: Europe, plus some 2008-2009 US TT 8J 2.0T |
Both tune the same way. Not sure which code you have? Find your engine code in two minutes.
Not this listing. Same badge, different engines. Go by the code, not the car:
| Code | Cars | Go to |
| CCTA, CBFA | late MK5 GTI, MK6 GTI, Jetta 2.0T, VW CC, Passat, facelift Audi A3 8P | 2.0T TSI tune |
| CRZA, CDLC, CDLF, CDLG, CDMA, CDLA | MK6 Golf R, GTI Edition 35, Audi TTS 8J, Audi S3 8P | Golf R and TTS tune |
| BPG, BWT | Audi A4 B7 2.0T | A4 B7 2.0T tune |
A 2008 GTI or Jetta 2.0T can be either engine. BPY is the FSI and belongs here. CCTA or CBFA is the TSI. Some of these cars wear a TFSI badge, but mechanically the EA113 is the FSI generation.
What the tune does
Written for 93 octane / 98 RON and adapts to 91 / 95. Throttle response is sharper, the soft midrange is fixed, and boost and timing are set for the fuel you actually run. Every stage: lag removed, speed limiter removed, rev limit raised to 7000, and better mileage when you are not in it.

Pick your stage
| Stage | Power | Needs | Price |
| Stage 1 | 250 hp / 290 lb-ft | stock car, no parts | $400.00 |
| Stage 2 | 270 hp / 300 lb-ft | intake and upgraded exhaust | add $50 |
| Stage 2+ | 275 hp / 310 lb-ft | intake, upgraded exhaust and HPFP upgrade | add $100 |
| Stage 3 | 335 hp / 335 lb-ft | K04-064 or hybrid K04, injectors or the pump upgrade, RS4 relief valve, front mount intercooler, upgraded diverter valve | add $150 |
| Stage 4 | custom, built for your turbo | big turbo, injectors, both fuel pumps upgraded, rods | add $250 |
What you need on the car
- Stage 1: nothing.
- Stage 2: an upgraded exhaust. The calibration is built around the improved airflow, so do not run it on a stock car. An intake helps it breathe. The RS4 fuel pressure relief valve (P/N 079130757) is recommended from here up.
- Stage 2+: the Stage 2 parts plus the high-pressure fuel pump internals upgraded.
- Stage 3: a K04 or a K04 hybrid, and either S3 injectors or the stock injectors with the pump upgrade. Also required: the RS4 fuel pressure relief valve and the upgraded diverter valve. A roller cam follower conversion isn't a bad idea.
- Stage 4: a big turbo, S3, RS3 or RS4 injectors, and the high-pressure and in-tank pumps upgraded. The factory MED9.1 caps the boost request at 2.5 bar absolute. We run the 5120 patch, which lifts that ceiling. Talk to us before you buy parts.
Before you tune
The EA113 weak spots, most important first:
- Rear cam chain tensioner: a rattle from the back of the engine on a cold start. Stop and fix it before anything else: if the chain jumps a tooth, this interference engine is done.
- Cam follower: a wear item on every EA113. Inspect it every 10,000 to 15,000 miles and replace it before it wears through, or the pump rides on the camshaft and you are buying a head.
- PCV: fails as a matter of routine. A failed one opens a vacuum leak or pressurizes the crankcase and pushes out the rear main seal.
- Diverter valve: the early diaphragm valves split and leak boost. The revised piston-style valve is a cheap part and a short job.
- Coils and plugs: fresh coils and correctly gapped plugs before you flash, one step colder past Stage 2.
- Carbon: no port injectors, so nothing washes the intake valves. Plan on a walnut blast every 60,000 to 80,000 miles.
- Early BPY relief valve: the fuel pressure relief valve goes weak with age and throws P0087 / P2293, the same codes as a worn cam follower. The RS4 valve (P/N 079130757) is the fix.
Each item is covered in the EA113 2.0T Tuning Guide.
After you order
- Order. Pick your stage, then choose Remote Tuning. A GTS cable ships with your order for a one-time $40 and it is yours to keep for every tune after this one. Already have one? Choose "I already have a GTS Remote Tuning cable".
- Read. Plug the cable into the OBD port and a Windows laptop, Windows 10 or later. An Intel Mac on Boot Camp works too. Our software identifies your ECU and saves your original calibration before anything is written.
- Flash. We build the calibration for your car, your hardware and your fuel. You get a message the moment it is ready, and you flash it yourself in your driveway in about ten minutes.
- Log. Drive, log, send. If anything wants adjusting we adjust it and you flash again. Stage 2+ and up usually take a revision or two to dial in for the exact hardware and fuel. Revisions usually come back the same day, and within 72 hours at the outside. If the car feels off after a flash, send us a log first: a split diverter valve, a failed PCV or tired coils look like a bad tune.
Prefer to mail the ECU in? Mail-in is free within the USA and Canada. We flash it on the bench and send it back in two to three days. Local? An OBD flash at the shop takes 10 to 15 minutes. How remote tuning works, start to finish.
Options explained
- Stage: pick from the table above.
- Adjustable Launch Control: hard 2-step / antilag is an add-on, for off-road and competition use. Pick None if you do not want it.
- Hard Cut Rev Limiter: a hard fuel cut at the rev limit instead of the factory soft limiter.
- Pops and Bangs (Exhaust Crackle): exhaust crackle on lift-off.
- I need an ECU (Spare ECU): we supply a second ECU already flashed. You swap it in, your original stays untouched, and the car goes back to stock in minutes.
- Mail or Remote Tuning: "I want the Remote Tuning Service", "I already have a GTS Remote Tuning cable" or "Mail Service (Canada/USA)", as in the steps above. "Dealer" if a shop is doing the install for you, and we deal with them directly.
Why GTS
Tuning since 2010, as Gonzo Tuning first and as GTS since 2013. Every calibration is written in house and the flashing tool is ours, not a rebadged package, and we never ask for remote access to your computer. Your original calibration is kept, so the car can go back to stock whenever you want it to. Reflashes carry a one-year warranty, and if you are not happy within 30 days you can go back to stock for a refund under our return policy. Support in English and Spanish.
Ordering from Canada or overseas
Canadian owners have ordered from us since 2014 and Canada is our second-largest market. The tune is delivered digitally, the cable is delivered within Canada with no customs and no import fees, we accept Canadian cards, and return shipping on a mail-in ECU is free. Anywhere else in the world, remote tuning needs the car, the cable and an internet connection, nothing else. We have tuned cars in Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Hungary, Puerto Rico, Panama, Costa Rica and Barbados.
